Before your first visit
- Do I need a referral?
- No. You can request an appointment with any TOC physician on your own. Some insurance plans still ask for one – Medicaid does – so check with your plan if you are not sure.
- Can I walk in with an injury?
- Yes. Urgent Ortho treats sprains, strains, closed fractures and sports injuries without an appointment. Huntsville Main is open Monday to Friday 8am–7pm and Saturday 8am–12pm. For open fractures, head injuries or heavy bleeding, go to a hospital.
- My child got hurt. Where should we go?
- Walk in any weekday afternoon to TOC's Pediatric Injury Clinic, staffed by pediatric orthopaedic trained physicians and nurse practitioners.
- What insurance do you accept?
- We work with most plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama and Tennessee, Aetna, Cigna, Humana – Tricare and United Healthcare. Call (256) 539-2728 to check yours.
- Am I a candidate for robotic surgery?
- Most people who need a joint replacement or spine surgery are eligible. Your surgeon will look at your imaging and talk it through with you at a consultation.
- How do I make an appointment?
- Fill in the online form and a scheduling specialist will contact you within one business day. Or call (256) 539-2728, Monday to Friday 8:00–4:30.
